How to reach me

From time to time someone pops by my site... drops a note and then asks for my email address.

You will not find my email address on my site. Why?

Because you get little computer programs called email-harvester bots... what they do is search the web for any email addresses they can find and add it to a database... the result then is that you get any/all of the following emails on a daily basis:

1. Hi I are xxxx, I got your details from a reputable bla blah blah... I want to transfer 35,465,768.00 US$ into your account, please send me all your personal details so we can organise a meeting blah blah blah. These ones are really funny. Aparently something like 115 people fall for these Nigerian scams every day.

2. Ebay/PayPal/Bank X (choose your favourite company that has money of yours) cares about your security and maintaining the best customer service blah blah blah we are currently improving all our systems and need you to login over here

mmm I had another couple of paragraphs... but they were lost... anyway... you get the picture from above....

You can sms me your email address on 0832719033 (South Africa) and I will email you back or skype me by searching for my first and last name next to each other all lowercase).

The Myth of Offense

Just came back from Victory Weekend. For a long time now I’ve made the claim that I am unoffendable and that the only thing that “offends” me is when someone thinks I’m offended with them. lol.

Anyway... one of the lecturers communicated quite nicely what was in my heart.

How often have you heard the statement “that person offended me” or “I offended that person”? How often has someone “offended” you?

How about a paradigm shift. What if I said it is impossible for someone to offend you or for you to offend someone. To me the idea of someone offending me is a post-modern way of justifying myself in bitterness and then having the “right” to slander or mistreat someone. After all they deserve it… they have it coming to them.

Please… grow up. Someone can’t offend me or you… at most they can present you with an opportunity to take offense. At that point you and I choose whether or not we want to be offended, whether through habit (because of your worldview), or by will.

So if you are a Christian… and there are people that have “offended” you… then do the right thing… release them, thereby releasing yourself from a life of twisted bitterness, stress and anxiety, and enjoy the added benefit of better sleep and less tension on your muscles…

In summary… Offense is a choice! Deal with it, or it will deal with you.

Irrelevant Ads

wow... can you believe the crazy titles of some of the links that google throws up on my site... hehe

I wonder how it decided that "Learn Voodoo Powers" was a relevant advert... oh well... I'm lucky enough that I don't need to bow down to occultic powers to try control people... my self esteem is good enough thanks to God.

Or whats up with "Coming World War" Nostradamus prediction adverts.

I have never mentioned any of the above stuff on this site...

Let me make it clear to anyone wondering... I support and encourage people to one power... the power of Jesus Christ. Nothing else. Why settle for something second rate.

I suppose after enough posts those adverts will disappear...

Anyway... here's a much nicer link. At least I think it's awesome... because my lovely lady added a reply to it :) click here

Can it get crazier???

It just dawned upon me...

I'm pioneering a 2 business's,
I'm part of the leadership team of a church plant,
Busy courting the most dynamic, powerful, wonderful and beautiful princess and
Planning to launch an outreach cell using some John Maxwell material

all while deepening my relationship with God.

I'm busier than ever... yet everything seems easy... It's been such a long time since I felt so at peace...

Had an awesome... one of those weeks where God speaks to you about little things.

I love having big revelations... they are always powerful moments... but they don't compare to the intimacy of when God talks to you and reminds you of little seemingly arb things.

I love Jesus more each year... I just love how he took me... a broken, depraved, depressed, suicidal hopeless case and gave me purpose, and shaped a destiny that I see unfolding before me daily.

Authentic Christianity has been the most difficult and yet the most rewarding thing. Knowing God is incomparable to anything. Knowing you are loved and accepted no matter your short comings is unbelievable... oh well... on into the night... it will be an all nighter... got to finish off a contract that is now 12 hours overdue... OOPS!!!

Life is really exciting at the moment... my spirit truly groans with words the mind can't understand.. I can't express what I feel.

Church Plant Update

Not sure if I mentioned it yet... surely I have... I guess you forget important things when you don't post for a couple of months... anyway, sometime last year I mentioned that Themba had approached me about a Church plant on the East Rand.

Well that went ahead. His People East is now an official congregation. YAY!!!

Pioneering so far has been great. Nothing like any other church experience. I suppose its because we have no pew warmers... only people keen to build the kingdom of God.

At the same time though everything is very challenging because numbers are so low... resulting in us all fullfilling multiple functions in the church. For instance at the moment the band and the sound team is the same thing. You should try mixing yourself in before a service.

Up till now we have concentrated on finding a venue and building relationships with each other. From next week we will go more actively and stragetically into outreach mode to start bringing in the lost.

Here are some photos!!!

Little Shayla... don't you just want to gobble her up?

Cramped in our first Venue... a double garage.

We've been so blessed with equipment...

Our first pre-service prayer meeting...

"No no no Themba... that button links the mp3 recorder to your coffee perculator."

Time for little noses to be sorted out before church starts...

Welcome to His People East... brought to you in 5 languages

ACTION SONG!!!! YAY!!!!

He preaches, he teaches.... and he.. uh.. juggles imaginery balls of air.

Since these photos... we've moved into a bigger venue... we are now meeting at Benoni West Primary School at 10am in the morning. For those of you that are part of an Every Nation church we will be running our first "Victory Weekend" in 2 weeks and will start rolling out outreach cells in the next week.

Will keep you guys updated...
