Church Plant Update

Not sure if I mentioned it yet... surely I have... I guess you forget important things when you don't post for a couple of months... anyway, sometime last year I mentioned that Themba had approached me about a Church plant on the East Rand.

Well that went ahead. His People East is now an official congregation. YAY!!!

Pioneering so far has been great. Nothing like any other church experience. I suppose its because we have no pew warmers... only people keen to build the kingdom of God.

At the same time though everything is very challenging because numbers are so low... resulting in us all fullfilling multiple functions in the church. For instance at the moment the band and the sound team is the same thing. You should try mixing yourself in before a service.

Up till now we have concentrated on finding a venue and building relationships with each other. From next week we will go more actively and stragetically into outreach mode to start bringing in the lost.

Here are some photos!!!

Little Shayla... don't you just want to gobble her up?

Cramped in our first Venue... a double garage.

We've been so blessed with equipment...

Our first pre-service prayer meeting...

"No no no Themba... that button links the mp3 recorder to your coffee perculator."

Time for little noses to be sorted out before church starts...

Welcome to His People East... brought to you in 5 languages

ACTION SONG!!!! YAY!!!!

He preaches, he teaches.... and he.. uh.. juggles imaginery balls of air.

Since these photos... we've moved into a bigger venue... we are now meeting at Benoni West Primary School at 10am in the morning. For those of you that are part of an Every Nation church we will be running our first "Victory Weekend" in 2 weeks and will start rolling out outreach cells in the next week.

Will keep you guys updated...
