My current Job

I have been contracted to develop a system for the cellular retail industry.

A basic (with all the jargon left out) run down of what I have been doing and will be doing is as follows:

Analyse all the business processes of my employers business. From the shopfront (sales) to all the admin processes. Analyse all the short comings of their current system. Look for uneccesary paper-trails that can be cut out and look for communication defencencies etc.

Then design a new system that will incorporate all the functions and needs of their business that have been identified.

The idea (with a bit of jargon) is to do the following:

BPR (Business process re-engineering) to improve efficiency and then incorporate CRM (customer relationship management) and improved supply-chain management techniques as well as elliminate as much human error as possible. This (and many other things) all in an automated system.

There are some really cool... really big things that I'll be doing... but I think it would be unethical for me to disclose any more information at this stage. Let's just say that i'll be helping these guys (who are already the best MTN store in the country) to create an incredible competitive advantage over other stores.

So what am I doing?

Ok... so you might have picked up from the last post or two that I've got a job this side... so what am I doing?

Well the above pic is my office computer.

P4 3.0 Ghz HT
1GB RAM
80 GB SATA Hdd
2 x 17" flat panel monitors

(thats really cool if you know nothing about computers)

If you are not from an African country then it's even better than you think because 99% of computers in South Africa still have CRT monitors because flat panels are just ridiculously expensive.

I'll dedicate another post to what I am currently working on.

New Style

Well... there we go. My new design is up... It still needs a bit of work though... I am still getting use to CSS... so maybe when I feel inspired again (not to soon I think) then I'll mess around with it a bit more.

Why the change... I was tired of all the blue.

More to follow...

Patience...

Hey... I haven't forgotten you guys at all.

I have taken photos of my place... plus I have lots of news...

I will shortly (in a week or 3) update everything.... plus I will put
up a new design for the blog... so it looks cooler.

Here's a little appetiser of news regarding church:

In the mornings I go through to HP Jhb. Which has been great... I have
been meeting up with just the right people who I think are going to be
really important in years to come.

At the moment I am also helping out with the youth at the local
Methodist church in Springs. They are going through a transition. God
is so involved there at the moment it's not funny.

They just got a new minister. He is tightly connected with Willow
Creek. He is a big visionary and is relaying the foundations. This
means that finally after many years the church leadership supports the
youth and believes in the youth. The youth (without intervention from
the main congregation) already have their own mammoth vision. There
are three schools next to the church. Their vision is to totally reach
and transform the lives of all the students and teachers in those
schools. It is like a mini Grahamstown.

I am discipling two of the guys and as of a month ago I am leading the
youth worship team.

This is all temporary... I really feel that God has got me there
because part of their vision is to raise leaders and make disciples.
They just don't know how. So I am giving them input on how to go about
it. (almost like a building prophet except that I'm no prophet.)

It is so amazing... the guys are really starting to grasp it. The one
guy who is also in the leadership team is a teacher at my old high
school. He is now currently discipling 8 guys one-on-one. WOW.

By the end of this year we would have raised up another band and a few
more cell leaders then I'll be off to the next spot.

I have been thinking about a church plant on the East Rand. Springs
has the following in the area:

Springs College

Daveyton University

Boston City Campus (which has just become a fully fledged campus...)

(So maybe in the next year or two we could look at starting some cells
or a bible school.

Apart from all that a stranger come up to me yesterday after worship.
She said that she felt that I had a word for her from God. Puzzled I
said "Ok... lets talk a bit first and see." She then proceeded to tell
me all the major things that God has done in my life. From how God
gives me revelation... how I approach the word... top what my giftings
and callings are... to how I perceive my leadership style and even on
some personal things that I had been asking God about, stuff that was
just between me and God. Mmmm looks like God was blowing the whistle
on me. She was extremely prophetic... she told me all this stuff
(which I obviously already knew) in casual conversation. Anyway I then
prayed for her and God gave me a couple of words. Turns out that a
couple of years ago she stopped fellowshipping because she couldn't
handle the hypocrisy, adultery and love of money in the church. She
then felt that God was telling her to come back to a church. God then
led her to the Methodist church. She is now commiting to a small group
(cell) and getting plugged in. Yeah!!! So now it looks like the church
will have their own middle-aged prophetess.

got to run... I am actually at work right now (tea break).

Keep your eyes glued... hopefully my new design will be up in the next week.
